DJ Lanzendorfer painting

California artist DJ Lanzendorfer has over 30 years of experience in her field. Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, she showed an early interest in art that has only increased with time.

Currently, her award-winning art is exhibited in galleries around California, including Chablis Gallery in Placerville, Generations Gallery in Yountville, and Cottage Artistry in Pacific Grove.

Commercial art past

In her 20s, Lanzendorfer studied art at Lewis and Clark College in Oregon before returning to California where she started several successful art-driven companies. Her interest in stained glass in the early 70s led to her company Rainbow Glass Works, where she made large windows and oval portable window panels in the style of L.C. Tiffany.

That business soon grew into the field of commercial art. DJ created a successful international design business that included creative design, advertising in national magazines, graphic art, layout and printing.

Back to her first love

In the 90s, DJ returned full-time to her first love: painting. Always exploring new techniques, she works in a variety of mediums, including oils, pastels, graphite and watercolors.

Her work reflects the natural beauty of California as well as the people who live here. But she is never limited to one subject and has explored themes as small as a grape cluster to as large as the indigenous people of Mexico and the South West.

She is a member of The Oil Painters of America, The American Impressionist Society,Inc. and The National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. She has been affiliated with the Art Workshop and the Watercolor Artists of Sonoma County.
